Last year, Success Group International announced the creation of the Herb Cundiff
Scholarship.
Herb Cundiff spent 38 years building a successful company in Wichita, Kansas, and
helping business owners across the country improve their companies and their lives
along the way. His dedication to improving his business was tireless and throughout
the years he was a member of Contractors Success Group and AirTime 500. Throughout
those 38 years, he left an indelible mark on both organizations and every member
he came in contact with.
Herb believed so powerfully in the impact of SGI and the bond and camaraderie he
developed through his membership, that Jim Abrams, John Young, and Terry Nicholson,
the brain trust behind SGI’s success-enhancing systems, decided to create the Herb
Cundiff Scholarship.
The Scholarship competition was open to contractors across the country looking to
improve their companies through the systems and practices of SGI, and now after
months of searching and deliberation, the winner of the Herb Cundiff Scholarship
has been chosen.
The winning contractor is Jim Bridges from The Plumbing Connection in Belmont, North
Carolina.
A member of PSI since 2005, Jim operates a one-man shop and stated in his application
that, "the bills don’t stop but the money will if I do."
"That’s a common challenge that many small contractors face. Like Jim, they don’t
have an exit plan," explained Terry Nicholson, SGI President. "Hopefully the Herb
Cundiff Scholarship will give Jim the boost he needs to get his company on a path
set for growth and profits."
In his application, Jim also wrote, "I’m 38 years old, and I still have time to
rock this town and help the people that I have always wanted to on many levels.
I love what I do with a passion."
It’s that passion and dedication to helping others that has made Jim Bridges the
winner of the Herb Cundiff Scholarship. Jim was awarded with the honor at the recent
PSI Summit in Houston and next month, he’ll be featured right here in The Compass.
Congratulations Jim!
